Process

1. Desk Research

For the initial approach, I start with secondary research and highlighted articles ideally understand the insight and issues that occurred.

2. Teardown Product - Analysis

2. Teardown Product - Visual Analysis

The findings deduced were:

From the articles and insights, let’s begin with the experience of product onboarding in Copilot Edge.

#Mistake 1 - Lack of guidance
An onboarding experience left in desert with no more support or any triggering button which leaving the users confused and unsure of what to do next, even when it comes to use the new features.

#Mistake 2 - Lowers productivity.
Another mistakes is when the onboarding starts too late the moment a user first encounters Copilot product. Unproper introduction and no trusting presentation can leave users disengaged right from the start.

#Mistake 3 - Lack of discovery feature.
Poor user onboarding is when your user onboarding didn’t truly reaches the “Aha! moment” when they learn the true value of Copilot can offer.

Design Process

1. Design Requirement:

Having gathered extensive insights through the secondary desk research, and teardown product with the teams, I uncovered several critical imperatives solution directions must address.

The solution should:

  • Helps user continues engage and drive feature adoption process through the various user journey stages of Copilot.
  • Have a proper new feature announcements in Edge by educate the user on the value of Copilot.
  • Achieve the product stickiness by guiding users do more with the Copilot.

2. Design Goal

New Feature Announcement
The design should seamlessly educate the users from this new addition and right away simultaneously drive the feature adoption.

Productivity Feature
The design aims to introducing the assistant for users in improving their productivity lifestyle which empower them to create faster, complete the task easy and lessen the cognitive load.
